Kimi Cafe

Project Overview

Suplex collaborated with Kimi, a premium café brand based in Dubai, to design and develop a seamless mobile app experience. The app was built to improve everyday convenience, allowing users to place quick orders, receive personalised recommendations, and engage with a rewards programme designed to build long-term customer loyalty in a competitive café market.

User Personas

To ensure the app addressed a wide range of user behaviours, our team at Suplex developed three distinct personas. These included the Introverted Coffee Lover seeking relaxed solo visits, the Hybrid Worker balancing productivity with downtime, and the Coffee Connoisseur with a strong interest in premium brews.

These personas informed key UX decisions and helped shape an interface that felt relevant, intuitive, and aligned with different usage patterns.

User Flows

Suplex mapped out clear and efficient user flows for Kimi’s mobile app, covering key actions such as browsing the menu, customising orders, and redeeming reward points. Each flow was designed to reduce effort and guide users smoothly from selection to checkout, supporting a friction-free ordering process.

Wireframes

Detailed wireframes were created to define the app’s structure, screen hierarchy, and interaction patterns. This stage helped establish a strong functional base for the interface, ensuring users could move easily from discovery through to order completion.

The wireframes played a key role in balancing usability with visual intent before progressing into high-fidelity design.

Colours and Typography

Suplex curated a refined colour palette and modern typography that reflected Kimi’s premium yet welcoming personality. These visual choices were applied consistently across the app to strengthen brand recognition while supporting readability and ease of use.

Together, the colours and type helped translate Kimi’s in-store experience into a cohesive digital environment.

Design System

A comprehensive design system was developed to bring consistency across all app components. This system balanced visual appeal with functional requirements, ensuring scalability while maintaining a consistent look and feel throughout the product.

Final Screens

Suplex delivered polished final screens that combined strong visual character with straightforward navigation. The finished app experience elevated the coffee-ordering journey, supporting both quick interactions and repeat engagement, while reinforcing Kimi’s position as a modern, customer-focused café brand.
